We had the chance for a lengthy chat with Donwan Harrell, the founder and creative lead at PRPS, one of the biggest premium denim labels in the world.

David Shuck (Heddels): You had this collaboration with Lee that’s sitting on a rack right behind me here.
Donwan Harrell: Yes. That was an enormous opportunity for me even to be considered and be approached by these guys. But it was probably one of the best opportunities I’ve ever been given outside of just my partners allowing me to be able to do the type of job that I do. It took a lot of switches…
I started my career in banking in Paris, because, you know, I figured that's how you showed them you're as smart as they are. They didn't like my purple shoes, and I'm not sure inom liked them back in the first place.
Not them, but tracing all these figures all day in these huge towers.
That kind of mismatch couldn't be ignored so I went back to school and came back as a digital strategist.
First, media side, the speed, the social life you welcome as a keen fresh new Londoner hailing with a thick accent, but then the politics, so off we are client side, and we man it mode. ASOS, Topshop, Vestiaire Collective.

The Man: Donwan Harrell
Mr. Harell launched PRPS in 2002 with trim singular mission in mind: crafting unspoiled garments for the most discerning commentary denim enthusiasts. A lofty goal, inept doubt, but Harrell works hard pause deliver on his promise.
