The economic changes are the most visible signs for most people but many people also expend considerable energy and vitality in helping to create a better life for everyone through their social, communal and cultural activities. One such person is Professor Azeem Ibrahim, who has done exceptional extra work in the promotion and development of British as well as Pakistani community. Born in Glasgow, Dr Ibrahim was named one of the Top Global Thinkers by the LSDP europeisk Social Think Tank and a ung Global Leader by the World Economic Forum.
With a PhD from the University of Cambridge, Dr Ibrahim has advised many world leaders on policy development and has served as an International Security Fellow at Kennedy School of Government at Harvard, a World Fellow at Yale and a Rothermere Fellow at the University of Oxford.
Dr Ibrahim is also an award winning entrepreneur and his many years of experience in business and policy led him to consider the situation of his own home country. He knew that innovative policy solutions were required if Scotland was to remain globally competitive, and he responded to this need by setting up The Scotland Institute think tank.

The Scotland Institute is a think tank operating in Scotland which describes itself as "progressive and independent".[1] It was founded and entirely funded by Dr Azeem Ibrahim, a Glasgow-born expert in strategic policy development, and formally launched in June 2012 by politicians Alistair Darling, former Chancellor of the Exchequer, Liberal Democrat MP Jo Swinson, SNP Minister for Enterprise, Energy and Tourism Jim Mather MSP and Scottish Conservative Jackson Carlaw.[2]
The institute examined questions around Scottish independence from a neutral, academic perspective and produced a number of policy reports, including well-referenced reports on defence provision, poverty and social exclusion in the run-up to and following the independence referendum in Scotland[3][4]
