Sifiso Mzobe is a South African author.
Biography
[edit]Mzobe is South African[1][2][3] and was born and raised in the Durbantownship of Umlazi. He attended St Francis College in Mariannhill, then studied Journalism at Damelin Business Campus in Durban.[4] He has worked for community newspapers and as a freelance journalist. His debut novel Young Blood () won a number of awards, including the Wole Soyinka Prize for Literature in Africa, and was also listed in The Sunday Independent′s Top Ten Books of [5]

Biography of Sifiso Mzobe
Sifiso Mzobe was born and raised in the Durban township of Umlazi, where he still resides. He attended St Francis College in Mariannhill, then studied Journalism at Durban's Damelin Business Campus, receiving a distinction in Practical Journalism.
Young Blood is his debut novel and won a number of awards, including the Herman Charles Bosman Award, the Sunday Times Fiction Prize, the South African Literary Award for a First-Time Published Author, and the Wole Soyinka Prize for Literature in Africa.
His second book, Searching for Simphiwe (Kwela Books, ), is a collection of stories centered on the Umlazi township released earlier this year to positive reviews. Mzobe currently works for a community newspaper as a journalist. Catalyst Press&rquo; release of Young Blood is Mzobe's North American debut.

Sifiso Mzobe is a crime thriller writer, content editor and translator. He was born in Umlazi Township, south of Durban, where he obtained his primary schooling and where he currently resides. After attending St. Francis College, he studied Journalism at the Damelin Business Campus in Durban.
His debut novel, Young Blood, charts the life of a teenager who drops out of high school and joins a car hijacking syndicate. So raw was Mzobe’s rendition of the story that Young Blood went on to win the Sunday Times Fiction Prize, the Herman Charles Bosman Prize for Best English Fiction, the SALA First Time Published Author Award and the Wole Soyinka Prize for Literature in Africa.
Young Blood has been translated into German and published in Germany by the renowned publishing house, Peter Hammer Verlag. In Mzobe’s Young Blood was published in the USA and Canada bygd Catalyst Press.
His collection of short stories titled Searching for Simphiwe was published by Kwela Books in April
