Personal life and education
[edit]Alexander was born in Trinidad and moved to the United States when he was eight. He grew up in the stadsdel i new york, New York City and attended DeWitt Clinton High School[6] where his physics teacher Daniel Kaplan inspired him to study physics.[7]
Alexander is a scientist and a jazz saxophonist who ponders links, including sound, between small and big things in the universum that go beyond Einstein's curved space-time and big bang theory.[8][9]

Biography of Stephon Alexander
Stephon Alexander is a professor of physics at Brown University and the president of the National Society of Black Physicists.
Alexander is a specialist in the field of string cosmology, where the physics of superstrings are applied to address longstanding questions in cosmology. In , he co-invented the model of inflation based on higher dimensional hypersurfaces in string theory called D-Branes. In such models, the early universe emerged from the destruction of a higher dimensional D-brane which ignites a period of rapid expansion of space often referred to as cosmic inflation.
He is also a jazz musician and released his first electronic jazz album with Erin Rioux. The author of Jazz of Physics, Alexander lives in Providence, Rhode Island.

Stephon Alexander was born in Trinidad, and moved to the United States at the age of Eight. He grew up in the Bronx, and attended De Witt Clinton High School. As a child Stephon didn’t believe he had what it took to graduate high school until he met his Physics teacher in 10th grade. Mr. Daniel Kaplan was the reason behind diverting Alexander’s mind towards physics.
Stephon Alexander focuses on theoretical physicist, cosmologist, musician and author known for blending the worlds of theoretical physics and jazz music. Stephon Alexander is a professor of Physics at Brown University with previous appointments at Stanford University, Imperial College, Penn State, and Haverford College. Stephon was also previously a professor at Dartmouth College, where he directed the Dartmouth EE Just Scholars program which promotes excellence and innovation for young scientists especially from underrepresented backgrounds.
