Oliver Ivanovic (1 April – 16 January ) was State Secretary of the Ministry for Kosovo and Metohija from to , serving as a member of the Social Democratic Party of Serbia and the Serb List of Kosovo.
Biography[]
Oliver Ivanovic was born in Rznic, SAP Kosovo, Yugoslavia in to a family of Serbs, and he studied at the University of Pristina. From to , he was head of the sports center in Kosovska Mitrovica, directed the Feronikl nickel mine company in Glogovak from to , and served as President of the Serbian National Council of North Kosovo and Metohija during the Kosovo War. After the war, he became involved with Serbian politics as a member of the Social Democratic Party of Serbia and the Serb List of Kosovo, and he served as State Secretary of the Ministry for Kosovo and Metohija from to In January , he was arrested on suspicion of war crimes and sentenced to nine years in jail on 21 January , but the guilty verdict was annulled on 12 February , and a new trial was ordered. Oliver Ivanović graduated from Technical School in Mitrovica. Studied at the Military Academy in Zagreb., and also completed Mechanical Engineering in Kosovska Mitrovica and became a graduate student at the Faculty of Economics in Pristina. His political career began in June , when he was elected president of the Serbian National Executive Council (SNC) of northern Kosovo. He was president of the SNC, and President of the Municipal Board of SNC in Kosovska Mitrovica. He headed the Coordinating Centre for Kosovo from August In parliamentary elections organized by the international community in November , he was elected as a deputy in the Assembly, and a member of the Kosovo Assembly Presidency. He received the Serbian List for Kosovo and Metohija in Kosovo&#;s parliamentary elections in October He was also a member of the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
