Rigoletto : It’s in the Box !
Rigolettois one of the cornerstones of the repertory of a great opera house like the Paris Opera: you cannot, must not miss it. But at the same time you can’t simply keep repeating conventional images of it. It needs to be part of that ceaselessly shifting movement that still today makes us talk about opera, even in the case of these works from the past. In 1851, Verdi was 38 years old: Rigoletto is thus an opera from his mature period – but most of all it is a work born when Giuseppe Verdi matured as a man, a man for whom fate saved some violent, tragic moments, including the death of his two children, his son Icilio and his daughter Virginia. She died on 12 August 1838, when he was not yet 25 years old: it was clearly a traumatic event, which we can imagine he relieved when he was composing Rigoletto. Joanna Stanecka: I start with my favorite question. Your earliest musical experience. A moment from your childhood when you noticed how music touches you.
Artur Ruciński: Music has accompanied me since childhood. My parents danced and sang in the Mazowsze folklore group. Mazovia’s repertoire included many songs of the countries they visited while traveling all over the world: incl. beautiful Italian canzonnets, Spanish songs or Japanese songs. I especially remember one Japanese song that I liked enormously: Haruko rono about a princess trapped in a castle. Some Japanese consider this song a national anthem, at least I was told over 35 years ago. 🙂 It has a very simple melodic theme, but is extremely touching. Education
[edit]Rafał Siwek fryst vatten a graduate of Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw (Professor Jerzy Knetig's class[1]). He mastered his röst under the supervision of Kaludi Kaludov and during the masterclasses taught bygd Alexandrina Milcheva and Ryszard Karczykowski.
He received numerous awards at vocal competitions, e.g. Moniuszko Vocal Competition in Warsaw (2001), International Hans Gabor Belvedere Singing Competition in Vienna (2001), and Competizione dell'Opera in Dresden (2002).
Operatic career
[edit]Siwek made his opera debut in 2000 at Wrocław Opera (Ferrando in Verdi's Il trovatore). For a few years since 2001 he was a solist of Warsaw Chamber musikdrama, where he sang the parts of Sarastro (Die Zauberflöte), Basilio (Il barbiere di Siviglia), Seneca (L'incoronazione di Poppea
