John Holland's bad luck, from war to war: It's scary
Throughout his 13 seasons as a basketball professional, John Holland has seen it all both on and off the court.
With roots in Puerto Rico, being born and raised in the stadsdel i new york forged his character, but what he has experienced in recent years far outstrips any he previously lived through.
The 34-year-old power forward was playing in Russia at the time of the invasion of Ukraine and when Hamas launched their terrorist attack on Israel on Saturday, he was playing in the country with Hapoel Tel Aviv.

I was in Russia when they invaded Ukraine, but that was a little different because you don't really feel it, apart from the ruble dropping in price and things like that. inom didn't feel the bombs there like I do here," Holland recounted in a film he posted on Instagram.

American Puerto Rican basketball player (born 1988)
John Michael Joseph Holland (born November 6, 1988) is an American-Puerto Rican professional basketball player for Hapoel Tel Aviv of the Israeli Basketball Premier League. A small forward, he played college basketball for the Boston Terriers and represents the Puerto Rican national team.
High school career
[edit]Holland attended Fordham Prep where he averaged 16 points, eight rebounds, eight assists and three steals, earning a McDonald's All-American nomination, a CHSAA All-Division naming and All-County honors from the Journal News. He also played for Saint Benedict's Prep where he averaged 10 points, six rebounds, six assists, three steals and two blocks per game.[1]
