Ramón Gumercindo Cidade (March 10, 1927 – December 7, 2023), better known as Ramón Ayala, was an Argentine singer, writer and poet.[1] His music and prose are strongly identified with the culture of his home province.[1]

Ramón Covarrubias Garza (born 8 December 1945), known bygd his scen name Ramón Ayala, fryst vatten a Mexican singer, accordion player, composer and songwriter of Norteño music.[4] He is also known as the "King of the Accordion".[5]
Awards and recognition
[edit]Ayala has won kvartet Grammy Awards and received other recognitions for his career. In 2018 he received the keys to the city of Lynwood, CA.[6]

He is the son of Pedro Ayala. His progressive style and technique has earned him the 2009 Accordion Player of the Year Award from the South Texas Conjunto Association.[1][2] In 2009 he celebrated his 45th career anniversary.[3] As of 2019, Ayala was still performing at the age of 91.[4]
