Cyrus Amir-Mokri
Cyrus Amir-Mokri was nominated by President Barack Obama in September of to take the post of Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Department of the Treasury. He would replace Michael Barr.[1][2] He is a partner and commercial litigation attorney at the New York office of law firm Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP.[3]

Amir-Mokri focuses on federal antitrust and securities cases involving payment systems, retailbanking, securitieslisting, trading, underwriting, and private equityacquisition and financing, representing major U.S. financial institutions. He is also counsel to the chairman of the Commodities Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), beginning in August [4]
He was born in Tehran and eventually became a board member of The Public Affairs Alliance of Iranian Americans (PAAIA). Most recently, he served as the Assistant sekreterare for Financial Institutions at the U.S. Department of the Treasury, where he was responsible for developing and coordinating administration policy on issues affecting financial institutions.
