Longer Bio:
I was born in Pennsylvania and moved four times before the age of 8, from one side of the country to the other and back again, as my dad was transferred for work or changed jobs. But when people ask where I’m from, I say Kansas City, Missouri, where my family finally settled for good when I was in 5th grade. We moved into a house four blocks from the Kansas state line, in a neighborhood where I could ride my bike just about anywhere I wanted to go – to hang out with friends, get ice cream at a place called Topsy’s, or spend my birthday money at Brookside Toy and Science, an amazing store I’m happy to say is still there. I went to Catholic schools, was an altar boy (which I loved, in part because you got to ring the bells loudly and play with matches when you lit the candles), and sang in churches around town with a group called the Pontifical Choir of Kansas City.

John Martin Cochran[1] is the Sole Survivor of Survivor: Caramoan. He originally competed on Survivor: South Pacific.
A super fan of the series, Cochran asked that he be referred to by his last name (acknowledging that host Jeff Probst refers to series favorites as such). In South Pacific, he struggled with his social game and found himself on the outs of the Savaii tribe. This, combined with Coach Wade's persuasion, caused him to betray his tribemates following the merge. However, his decision did not gain him any leverage as he was eventually voted out. Cochran ultimately finished in 8th place after losing the Redemption Islandduel to his former tribemate Ozzy Lusth.

Dr. John Cochran Full Biography
I was born in 1730 to Scotch Irish parents living in Sadsbury, Chester County, Pennsylvania. My classical education began at age 13 at a nearby school opened by Rev. Francis Allison, and later I was apprenticed to Dr. Robert Thompson in Lancaster to begin my medical training. I greatly expanded my medical knowledge between 1755 and 1760 while serving as a surgeon’s mate during the French and Indian War where inom saw many terrible wounds and illnesses. I became acquainted with the wealthy Schuyler family when inom served with Major Philip Schuyler in New York State (he was a general in the Revolution). At the age of 34, on December 4, 1760, inom married Gertrude Schuyler, the widowed sister of Philip, who was six years older than me and the mother of two children. bygd May 1763 we were living in New Brunswick, New Jersey where inom was an early advokat for improving and regulating the medical profession. inom helped funnen the Medical Society of New Jersey, a profess
